What is the Top-20 Index?
The Top-20 Index is a live list of the twenty largest cryptocurrencies ranked by market capitalization, which is the current price multiplied by the circulating supply. Because these coins hold most of the value in the crypto market, they are often used as a quick snapshot of how the whole market is doing. If most of the top 20 are moving up, the market is generally strong. If most are falling, sentiment is usually weak.
How to read the table
| Column | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| # | Rank by market capitalization. Rank 1 is the largest coin. |
| Price | The latest price of one coin in US dollars. |
| 1h / 24h / 7d % | How much the price has changed over the last hour, day and week. Green means up, red means down. |
| Market Cap | Total value of all coins in circulation. A bigger number usually means a more established coin. |
| Volume (24h) | The value traded in the last 24 hours. High volume means the coin is easy to buy and sell. |
| Last 7 Days | A small line chart of the price over the past week, so you can see the trend at a glance. |
Where does the data come from?
Prices and market data on this page are loaded live from the free public API of CoinGecko, and the table refreshes automatically every 60 seconds. You can compare any figure with other major trackers such as CoinMarketCap. Small differences between sites are normal because each one collects prices from different exchanges.
Why the top 20 matters
Large coins such as Bitcoin and Ethereum usually move first and move the rest of the market with them. Watching the top 20 helps you spot the overall trend, see which coins are gaining or losing share, and avoid relying on the price of a single coin. It also pairs well with the Fear & Greed Index and Bitcoin Dominance to judge market mood.

Frequently asked questions
How often does this page update?
The table refreshes automatically every 60 seconds while the page is open.
Is a higher market cap always safer?
Larger coins are generally more established and easier to trade, but they can still fall sharply. Market cap shows size, not safety.
Why do prices differ from other websites?
Each data provider collects prices from a different mix of exchanges and updates at different times, so small differences are normal.
