What is a Bitcoin converter?

A Bitcoin converter tells you how much BTC is worth in a normal (fiat) currency such as the US dollar, euro, pound, rupee or naira. It also works the other way: enter an amount of money and see how much Bitcoin it buys. This converter uses the live Bitcoin price in US dollars and the latest daily exchange rate, so it works for 150+ currencies worldwide, and it also shows the result in satoshis, the smallest Bitcoin unit.

How to use this Bitcoin converter

  1. Choose Bitcoin to money, or Money to Bitcoin.
  2. Pick your currency with the quick buttons or the full currency list.
  3. Type the amount, or tap a quick amount.
  4. Read the result, the live price and the board that shows the same value in 12 currencies.

How the conversion is calculated

  • BTC price in your currency = BTC price in USD × exchange rate (USD to your currency)
  • Bitcoin to money = BTC amount × BTC price in your currency
  • Money to Bitcoin = amount ÷ BTC price in your currency
  • Satoshis = BTC amount × 100,000,000

Worked example. Bitcoin trades at 60,000 US dollars. You hold 0.25 BTC.

0.25 × 60,000 = 15,000 USD, and 0.25 BTC is 25,000,000 satoshis. To go the other way, 1,000 USD ÷ 60,000 = 0.016667 BTC.

Bitcoin units

One Bitcoin is divided into 100,000,000 satoshis. The smaller units are used for small payments and fees. For a full unit table, open the satoshi converter.

Why the price can differ from your exchange

This tool shows the market price, not what you receive when you sell. Exchanges add trading fees and a spread, local platforms can quote a small premium or discount, and banks add a margin on currency exchange. For a real order, check the final amount on the platform you use. To compare Bitcoin with other coins, use the crypto to crypto converter, and to turn any coin into cash use the crypto to fiat converter.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert Bitcoin to my local currency?

Choose your currency, type how many BTC you have, and read the result. The converter multiplies the amount by the live Bitcoin price in your currency.

How many satoshis are in one Bitcoin?

One Bitcoin is 100,000,000 satoshis. The converter shows the satoshi value of every amount you enter.

How often is the Bitcoin price updated?

The price is refreshed when the page loads and again about every 90 seconds. Exchange rates are daily rates, and the update date is shown above the tool.

Does this include exchange fees?

No. It shows the market value only. Your exchange, bank or card adds fees and a spread, so the amount you really receive will be a little lower.

This is not financial advice. This converter gives estimates for information only and is not tax or investment advice. Crypto prices are volatile and you can lose money. Prices by CoinGecko and exchange rates by Exchange Rate API.
